Wiss Cottage
Wiss Cottage is a delightful retreat for up to 4 guests, located in the main street of the tiny village of Kalbar, right next door to The Emporium by Empire Revival.
Built in 1890 by German merchant, Lionel Wiss and his wife, its original charm and simplicity has been carefully maintained. The cottage is furnished in a quaint, old-fashioned style with handmade quilts, cross stitch, comfy chairs, unusual collectables, lots of books and magazine, and games. The cottage has air-conditioning for the warmer months and an electric faux fireplace for when it’s cold.
The garden is a beautiful place to unwind with a huge old Jacaranda tree providing shade, a pergola, and outdoor BBQ area. Watch the sun rise on the front verandah and see it set below the stunning mountain ranges of the Scenic Rim from the back garden.
The New Kalbar Motel – 107 George
Nestled just a short walk from White Chapel is Kalbar’s newest accommodation, 107 George Motel and Apartments. Its convenient location makes it easy to book a room for yourself or your entire bridal party.
The Motel has 10 King/Queen rooms and two luxurious two-bedroom apartments, equipped with a full kitchen, lounge, and balcony. Wheelchair-accessible rooms are available. We also offer the option to book out the entire facility for group stays.
